christmas stock (ing)

now listed in my etsy shop:

A stocking made for the nature lover in every way. Using upcycled bottom weight fabric in khaki for the base and embellishing with eco friendly felt, fabric scraps and reclaimed embroidery thread I designed this stocking with the active outdoorsman in mind. Tip of stocking is a stuffed "trout head"; it's always so difficult to get the gift out of the toe of the stocking, isn't it?The loop for hanging is made from cotton tape stamped with flies and though it would have been super cute to add a real hook with fishing line I squelched the urge. Can't have your Christmas Day ruined by a hooked thumb!Measures approximately 13 by 17 inches...or maybe it was 18 by 27 inches...no, if i remember correctly it was a whopping 25 by 48 and weighed 156 pds!

"Good morning, Alice! Did you sleep well?"
"I did. I suppose I'll go out and grab the eggs from the hen house. It's awfully cold out today. Do you know where my hat and scarf are?"
"I sure don't but if you wouldn't mind, after finding them could you run these little gifts over to the Johnsons's house for me?"
"Happy to do it, Lolly! How sweet to wrap them in these darling little stockings; they remind me of our gathering room."
"Yes, well...we make do with what we have and those fabrics were the remnants from our armchairs that I recovered. I do think the stockings turned out quite festive."
"I am sure Clark and Caroline will enjoy them, Lolly. Oh, and they can string them with ribbon and hang them on the tree after opening their gifts!"

(measures approximately 8" x 7")set of two with brass eyelets for running ribbon through(not included)

curiosity killed the cat

or in my case, the sewing machine

yes, that's right- my curious mind wanted to know why my machine wasn't working properly- so last night i took it all apart. no diagrams. no rhyme or reason. i just began unscrewing here and there and throwing pieces all over the table as i dug around in the mysterious cavern of the machine. i have always been fascinated with the mechanics of things and i had no fear as i dove in last night, convincing myself that it was a learning experience. suprisingly i believe i found the part that seems to be the problem and i have even identified how to put it all back together.
i have a lot of sewing to do today. thankfully i have another sewing machine in working order. at last count there are three sewing machines in my room and only one that is working presently.

it's like the junk yard of sewing machines.
